A Field Trip to Virtusa : Exploring the World of Software Services
Yesterday, a group of students from the Esoft Metro Campus, computer science program at Kingston University had the opportunity to go on a field trip to Virtusa, a leading software services company. The visit was a unique chance for us to see first-hand how software services are developed and implemented in a real-world setting.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the team at Virtusa and given a presentation about what is Virtusa by Aniston Leo.
Next, we were given another impressive presentation by one of the company’s software architect, who shared his journey from being a student to working in the software industry. He spoke about the challenges and rewards of working in the field and how his studies had prepared him for his career.
During the presentation, we had the chance to got to know the software development process happens in the industry. We were able to ask them questions about their work. It was fascinating to see how they used different tools and techniques to solve complex problems and bring their ideas to life.
One of the highlights of the trip was when we participated in group activities conducted by Suweda Rajaratnam and Agassi Johnson where we put our communication skills to test.
Finally, we had a Q&A session with some of the company’s executives (Dhanushi Wickramasuriya), who shared their insights and experience on the company. They gave us valuable advice on how to succeed in the field and how to prepare for a career in software services
Then wrapping up the field trip we were given a tour of their facilities. The state-of-the-art offices and cutting-edge technology were truly impressive and gave us a glimpse into the future of software development and also the workplace culture in virtusa.
In conclusion, the field trip to Virtusa was an incredible experience for us. It gave us a glimpse into the world of software services and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. We are grateful for the chance to learn from the experts and we are inspired to pursue our own careers in this exciting field.
Thank you, Virtusa, for opening your doors and sharing your knowledge with us. We will always remember this experience and look forward to staying in touch as we embark on our own careers in the software industry.😊
